Grind & Seal

Concrete sealers are applied to concrete to protect it from surface damage, corrosions and staining. They either block the pores in the concrete to reduce absorption of water and salts or form an impermeable layer that prevents such materials from contamination.

At Concrete grindpro, we only use superior flooring installation methods prescribed by leading manufacturers in the industry, which include the implementation of proper concrete preparation. The methods Concrete Grindpro uses include shot-blasting or diamond grinding, which ensures the concrete sealer absorbs and adheres to your substrate.

What is the Grind & Seal method?

Grind & seal, also known as concrete sealing, is becoming increasingly popular amongst the residential, commercial and industrial sectors, given its cost effectiveness and low maintenance.

Concrete grinding and sealing is suitable for freshly poured or pre-existing concrete floors that want to be rejuvenated to improve their look and durability with a low maintenance concrete flooring system. The concrete grind & seal process is very similar to that of polished concrete, however, we stop after the last metal diamond grit (120).

Your options of aggregate exposure are the same from no exposure, known as a clean and seal to medium to full exposure, which leaves you with a durable, UV and stain resistant floor.

The difference between the two options is their end finish – particularly the shine and smoothness. This method is more affordable than polished concrete as it is a faster process and is either sealed with a solvent based or water based sealer after the initial grinding process has been completed. The end result still looks great and still offers a long lasting, durable, and stain resistant concrete flooring system.
Grind & seal is the next best option for those concrete floors that are poor in strength and simply cannot be polished even after applying hardener to the concrete surface.
