Polished concrete is a combination of grinding, hardening and resin diamond technology, and when combining all three of these stages, we are able to produce a long lasting, durable, and hard wearing polished concrete floor. Polished concrete is a concrete substrate that has been chemically hardened with densifier and progressively ground from a rough grit diamond, with finer grit diamonds and resin tooling used to achieve smoother floors. Polished concrete is not considered polished before a 400 grit resin, and we recommend finishing on a 800, 1500 or 3000 grit, depending on the desired level of gloss you are looking at achieving.

The process to polish a concrete floor involves grinding of the surface to remove surface contaminants and expose the desired level of aggregate. Then, clean and prepare the surface for hardening and follow with the grinding and polishing steps to achieve a long lasting, low maintenance, polished concrete floor finish.
Exposure levels range from either a full exposure where aggregate/stones in the concrete are highly visible, to Random Exposure, Light or Nil Exposure where no aggregate/stones will be shown, although some stone exposure choices may vary depending on your concrete.
The polished concrete surface finish has a few options for the desired look (selection of either Matte, Saturn or Full gloss) finishes. This is a mechanically polished surface finish, which is NOT a coated surface finish. This finish is exceptionally hard, will not scratch, is environmentally friendly, and should require minimal ongoing maintenance.
