This Wellington floor was in poor shape. Cracked through, structurally damaged in places, and not really fit for the space it was in.
Repair came first, and it had to be done properly. Damaged sections cut back to sound concrete and rebuilt, cracks repaired according to whether they were still moving. Polishing over unresolved damage just produces a very shiny problem.
With the slab sound again, we ground and polished it through to a high-end commercial finish. What had been a compromised, unsafe surface became a durable floor with years left in it, at a fraction of what replacing it would have cost.
